Key Policy Reform Issues
The charities
sector in Ireland is unregulated
This
effectively means that there is no body
which has:
the
specific aim of supervising the
sector
the
statutory powers to either maintain
a register of charities or to
subject the sector to regulatory
scrutiny
There is
therefore no such thing as a registered
charity in Ireland at present
There is no
statutory definition of what a "charity"
is
